Beginner’s Bluegrass Banjo    

Learn to play the 5-string bluegrass banjo!  This course is for the complete novice, no previous musical experience needed.  From right-hand roll patterns to left-hand chord positions you will learn the simple techniques that make playing the banjo both easy and fun.  In four short weeks, you’ll be yearning for more banjo tunes! Already picking the old five string and looking to expand your playing skills?  Let Jeff Hensley, who has a growing following of local talent, demonstrate additional banjo techniques. The focus of this four week course is the ability to easily pick along with any song by ear.  Additionally, we'll cover the essential licks that every banjo picker should know.  You'll learn all the simple tricks that make banjo playing both fun and easy.  Be sure to bring along your banjo!

Acoustic Jamming with Others    

Tired of playing music by yourself?  Rather than teaching you how to play an instrument, this class will enable you to play the instrument you already know along with other musicians.  While playing music with other people might seem intimidating at first, the rewards outweigh the risks.  Many people are afraid to play for others, fearing they aren't good enough.  Others are afraid that they will clam up and be unable to perform.  Don't let these negative thoughts deter you any longer!  If you can play G, C and D chords, then bring your instrument along and let's make music!
